Matri Sneha Orphanage
- Matri Sneha Orphanage is home to 35 infants and 60 to
80 toddlers. The orphanage provides constant care with
three full-time doctors, three full-time nurses, two
full-time physical therapists and 35 ayahs (caregivers)
on staff. Medicines, bottles, and diapers are very
expensive in India and are in constant demand. Madhumita
Roy,
director of the ISRC, works very closely with the
medical staff for the nursery.
Donations to Matri
Sneha Orphanage helps with the cost of daily or weekly
visits from specialists such as physical therapists and
teachers, physiotherapists, doctors and nurses. Facility
sponsorships help replace items such as furniture, toys
and crib mattresses. |

|
Lunch Program
- The ISRC hosts a lunch program that daily feeds
approximately 60 school children. They have established
a milk program for children 2 to 4 years old, and are
currently in the process of setting up a healthy food
program. |

Child Sponsorships
- The "Innocent Smile" program helps the orphanage
support children with special needs. These children are
available for adoption, but due to their ongoing health
issues finding a forever family for them is more
difficult. By sponsoring a child you insure that the
orphanage will be able to afford to provide them with
the daily and medical care they need. If you are
interested in sponsoring a child contact Caitlin at
(918) 749-4600 x210 or by
email. |

Cancer Hospital
- In addition to her position at the orphanage in
Kolkata, Madhumita works with the local cancer hospital
and is seeking sponsors to fund medical care for local
cancer patients. There are an average of 15 patients a
month from ages 12 to 60 that require treatment through
this program, many of them are unable to pay for basic
health care. The sponsorship amount of $2,400 is the
average cost for cancer treatment in Kolkata. |
